Persistence regardless

Voltaire’s Candide considers what we trust most: what we know at home (what we hear, what is explained) and what we learn when we leave home (what is experienced). We, the reader, root for the weight of experiences because, page by page, we begin to change our minds. But Candide, like a shepherd with his flock, stays on course.
